Divya Ayurvedic Oils.
Made entirely by hand, starting with the fresh ayurvedic plants picked
in the uncontaminated lands of Kerala. Selected, washed and boiled for
one full day in steel pots, until a dark, thick, perfumed Kashaya is obtained.
This is then filtered and blended with new fresh plants and pure sesame,
castor or sunflower oils. The mixture is boiled once again, mixed constantly
by hand for a further two days until the water has fully evaporated and
the plants have turned to a dry, crumbly Kalka; the oil is amber in colour,
clear and transparent. A scent of vegetation reveals a faint bouquet of
warmed oil. Pitta is more bitter, Vata sweet and Kapha spicy. The oil
is filtered again and once again, to separate the last traces of Kalka.
Soya lecithin and tocopherol, of 100 % vegetable content, are then carefully
added to prevent the oil from oxidising and turning rancid. This keeps
the oil stable, safe and effective for long periods of time. Improving
the tradition.
